# SETUP FOR BEGINNERS — ScrapeTo

**No experience needed.** This guide walks you through everything, click by click.
If you can use a browser, you can do this. ~5 minutes total.

## What this tool does (in plain English)

ScrapeTo is a small button that lives in your Chrome browser. On any webpage with
a table, a list, or repeated rows (search results, product grids, directories),
it lets you select the part you want and saves it as a **CSV file** — a spreadsheet
you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

## What you need

- **Google Chrome** on a computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux)

That's it. No account, no installation wizard, no subscription.

## Step 1 — Unzip ScrapeTo

1. Find `scrapeto.zip` in your Downloads folder.
2. Right-click it → **Extract All** (Windows) or double-click (Mac).
3. A folder appears: **`scrapeto`**. Inside it there's another folder also named
   **`scrapeto`** — that's the one we'll load. (If you only see files like
   `manifest.json`, the folder itself is already the one we need.)

## Step 2 — Turn on Developer mode in Chrome

1. Open Chrome.
2. In the address bar, type **`chrome://extensions`** and press Enter.
3. Flip the **"Developer mode"** switch **on** (top-right corner).

## Step 3 — Load the extension ("Load unpacked")

1. Click the **"Load unpacked"** button that just appeared.
2. In the file picker, select the **`scrapeto`** folder (the one that contains
   `manifest.json`) and click **Select Folder**.
3. ScrapeTo appears in your extension list, with an icon next to the address bar.

## Step 4 — Try it for free

1. Go to a page with data you want — for example a Wikipedia table.
2. Click the ScrapeTo icon.
3. Click **Pick element**, then hover the page and click the table/rows you want.
4. Preview the rows in the popup, then click **Export CSV**. Your file downloads.

**Demo mode** allows 10 exports for free — try before you buy.

## Step 5 — Unlock with your license (after you buy)

1. Click the ScrapeTo icon → open the popup.
2. Paste your key (it starts with `ds-…`) into the **License key** field.
3. Click **Unlock**. Done — unlimited exports.

## Common questions

- **The icon isn't showing?** Click the puzzle-piece icon (extensions menu) next
  to the address bar and pin ScrapeTo.
- **The page I want uses "infinite scroll"?** Scroll down first to load everything,
  then pick the element — ScrapeTo captures what's on the page.
- **Chrome updated and ScrapeTo stopped working?** Go back to `chrome://extensions`
  and click the refresh arrow on the ScrapeTo card.
- **I lost my license key?** Visit **https://smadsolutions.com/agent-b/recover/** and
  enter the email + order ID from your PayPal receipt.
- **New computer?** Your key allows 3 devices. Release the old one at
  **https://smadsolutions.com/agent-b/manage/**.
- **Can it be installed with one click like a normal app?** Soon — a Chrome Web
  Store listing is on the way. For now, "Load unpacked" is the 10-second path above.
