PayPal + Supabase licensing kit

Charge for your code the same day you write it.

Ship & Charge wires PayPal checkout, synchronous license issuance and automatic license keys into any app. Clone it, set five environment variables, sell. No subscription, no revenue share, no vendor lock.

Battle-tested. Two live products run on this exact stack.
Honest demo. The buy button on this page runs on Ship & Charge itself.

01

Three steps, one afternoon

1

Connect

Create a PayPal REST app and a Supabase project. Paste five keys into the config. Sandbox mode lets you test-buy for free first.

2

Deploy

Run the schema, deploy two edge functions, point your buy button at one URL. The guide walks every click.

3

Get paid

Buyer pays, and the same request that captures the payment mints the license key — no webhooks, nothing to go stale. The key appears on their success page and in your dashboard. Automatically.

02

What’s in the box

Checkout function

Creates a PayPal order and hands back the approve link. Product name, price and return URLs are environment variables.

Capture & licensing

Payment captured and license issued in one request. Duplicate deliveries are ignored by design.

License engine

Readable keys (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX), stored in Postgres with row-level security. Anon visitors can read nothing.

Admin dashboard

Single-file dashboard: stats, search, revoke and restore. Ships with demo data so you can preview before connecting.

03

Sold by the stack it ships

Every claim on this page is checkable. When you click Buy with PayPal, you trigger the same checkout function you’ll download, captured by the same capture function, issuing the same license format you’ll own. If it works on us, it works for you.

Try before you buy: license manager demo (device binding, live) · admin dashboard demo · free license-key generator — bookmark it, it’s free forever.

What you’ll need

No hidden fees, no “bring your own” surprises. Four free-or-cheap accounts and about ten minutes — and no experience needed: a click-by-click beginner guide (SETUP-FOR-BEGINNERS.md) and double-click installers (setup.bat / install.sh) ship in the download.

PayPal account

Free to create. A personal account works in sandbox for test-buys; a Business account (also free) is required for live sales.

Supabase account

Free tier is enough. You’ll create one project and run one SQL file.

Node.js

Any recent LTS. Needed only to run the Supabase CLI that deploys the functions and sets your secrets.

Supabase CLI

One npm install. The setup guide runs every command for you.

What you get: a single ship-and-charge.zip — Supabase schema (licenses + device activations + rate limiting), four TypeScript edge functions, a single-file admin dashboard, a license manager with device binding, a license recovery page, a license-check demo, a click-by-click beginner guide, double-click installers, and a full setup walkthrough — plus the license key that activates the demo. No subscription, no per-transaction fees beyond PayPal’s standard processing.

Questions

Do I need a business PayPal account?

A personal account works for testing in sandbox. For live sales, PayPal requires a business account — it’s free to create.

Subscriptions or one-time only?

One-time payments today — subscription support is on the roadmap.

What do I need to run it?

A free Supabase project, a PayPal account, Node.js, and the Supabase CLI (installed via npm). See the “What you’ll need” section above — everything else (schema, functions, dashboard, demo) is in the .zip.

Which stack is it written in?

TypeScript edge functions (Deno), plain SQL, and a dependency-free single-file dashboard. No framework to learn.

Refunds?

30 days, processed through PayPal, no questions asked. The admin panel has a revoke button for exactly this.

One afternoon. One payment stack. Yours.
